Choosing Happiness

Healthy Living Is Healthy Thinking

Now, more than ever, people are concerned about wellness of mind. Mental wellness is a conscious effort to maintain a positively healthy mind-set. It is key to living a healthy, happy, productive life.

Everything accomplished in life begins as a thought. How we think is reflected in our actions. Our actions, positive or negative, affect us and those around us.

Are things not going well today? Consider your thoughts. Want a positive outcome? Begin with a positive thought. Negative thoughts can keep us from achieving our goals.

Happiness is a choice. It is one of the first decisions we make each morning. How we start the day usually dictates how the day will go. How are your thoughts today? Choose to think on things that are honest, just and of a good report (Philippians 4:8).

Find something to be thankful for each day, and let kindness be a part of the daily routine. Greet everyone with a smile.

Give children hope and contentment through love. Love is key to their happiness. Lionel Richie said it best in the song “Jesus Is Love.” Jesus is perfect love (1 John 4:8,18). Loving him provides great peace and peace is often what children and teens who commit suicide are looking for.

Want to experience wellness of mind, body and spirit? Whenever possible, surround yourself with loving, like-minded, happy people. Fill your home and school with great books.
