Steam Baths Ease Allergies
Adding Herbs Enhances Effect
Researchers from Thailand had 64 people suffering from hay fever (allergic rhinitis) experience half-hour steam baths three times a week for four weeks.
Half received baths without herbs; the other half’s baths were enhanced with herbs such as lemongrass and ginger.
The two treatments equally lowered symptoms such as sneezing, nasal itching and nasal congestion, but those taking the herbal baths reported greater satisfaction with their treatment.
